Schmeing is a traditional company with a history dating back almost 200 years. For decades the focus was on production of high quality accessories for the worldwide weaving industry. After successful integration into the globally active Groz-Beckert Group, the company's competencies and synergies were merged together. Production as well as international distribution has since been handled by GROB Textile AG, CH-8853 Lachen, Switzerland.
The site in Raesfeld has been continuously further developed and today has 200 highly-qualified employees, who develop and produce future-oriented, market-ready, high-quality products for textiles and plastic technology. Schmeing is thus one of the largest employers in the region.
Thanks to state-of-the-art CNC processing centres and plastic injection moulding machines Schmeing produces high-quality plastic ball bearings and components for the most diverse industrial applications, distributing them under the brand-name of SMG.
High-precision tools and system components for the production of textile floor surfaces are also produced in Raesfeld, and are distributed by Groz-Beckert under the well-known brand names of Schlemper and Eisbär.
Schmeing, GROB and SMG are all members of the Groz-Beckert Group. The company is the leading provider of precision components and system components for the production of textile surfaces and employs roughly 7000 employees worldwide, approximately 2,000 of whom work at its headquarters in Albstadt, Germany.
